Ancestral Herbalism with Danielle Benjamin, MSed

All of us have ancestors on our bloodlines who cultivated intimate, reciprocal healing connections with plants and lands. Whether acknowledged or unconscious, the spiritual and physiological resiliencies of these [sometimes ancient] relationships are part of us, alive in our cellular memory. Join Danielle, spiritual herbalist, in exploring ancestral memory and what it can mean to answer the call to activate and evolve our lineage of relationship with earth medicine.

Danielle is a student of Spirit. Daughter of a Black-identifying Afro-Indigenous family reclaiming their diasporic roots, Danielle began cultivating with ancestors in ceremony, dreams and nature as a child. Within her own journey into motherhood, Danielle felt a catalyzing call for deep healing, and her ancestors and plants supported her to begin healing old traumas and more fully inhabit life. Seven years into honoring this call, Danielle is an energetic herbalist, astrologer and preschool teacher. Seeking the energetic root behind disease, Danielle's practice draws on plant medicine, evolutionary astrology, and mediumship. She offers private consultations, community healing workshops & plant meditations across Huichin Ohlone/East Bay land and online. Danielle is the founder of Temple of Earth Apothecary, a brick-and-mortar herb shop and Black/Indigenous healing sanctuary space, opening doors in Spring, 2022.

The heart of Danielles formal herbalism studies were with Ancestral Apothecary’s School of Folk and Indigenous Medicine, completed in 2019, and her studies are ongoing. Danielle holds a masters degree in Special Education from CUNY Hunter College.
